All Your Questions
Answered
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions
about the photography business. I hope my answers and additional
comments will help to give you a clear understanding of what this
home study course can do for you.
Question: How much money can I make?
Answer: How
much money do you want? Would you be happy with some extra
cash each week or do you aspire to cash in big time? You can
make a lot of money in this business. I show you how you can
make $100,000 a year. It depends on the time and effort you
are prepared to put in. Some of our clients are content working
their business part-time and making a nice income on the side.
Others prefer to jump in feet first to replace the income
from their day job as fast as they can so they can leave their
day job. There is a lot of untapped business out there and
I will show you how to capitalize on it. We give you the tools
you need, so how much money you make is entirely up to you. |
Question: How good a photographer do I really
have to be?
Answer: The
only prerequisites are owning a 35mm or digital SLR camera
(or for some markets a compact digital camera) and be able
to use it to take clear shots. We show you how to use lighting
to get the best shots. I even cover the shoot in general and
then specifically for each of the 20 markets covered. The
fact is that you can take photographs that people will love
from day one by following what I cover in the home study package
(my aim is to get you making money ASAP). You will develop
your own unique style as a professional. |
Question: Can
the package be used anywhere in the world?
Answer: Yes
it can - we have members in Australia, USA, Canada and the
UK. Our business and marketing strategies, tactics and secrets
work anywhere as human behavior is consistent wherever you
go. Everyone has a similar set of aspirations and fears. Everyone
wants to look good. All business owners want their products
to look great so they sell. All publishers need great shots
for magazines and books. And everyone wants timeless keepsakes
of the things they love including children, pets, sports,
car, boats ... well, you understand what I mean. Also, the
general rules of business are the same all over the world
in terms of copyright, trading structure, accounting and tax
treatment and legal matters. You will need to apply this information
to your country or region as there may be subtle differences.
This information is readily available from your government
and your accountant or lawyer. |
Question: Do
I need a studio?
Answer: No,
well certainly not a costly full-time one. This depends
on the market you want to get into. If you want to specialize
in portraits and portfolios you can run this from a home
studio (or hire one on a session basis). We know successful
people who run their studio with a backdrop and some lighting
in their kitchen - probably not the best spot, but the point
is that you can set up any room in your house as your studio.
People are more interested in the photographs you take rather
than a flash studio in main street that will charge them
a fortune. Of course, if your interest is nature/landscape
photography, then the world is your studio. |
Question: Does it matter if I have a film camera
or digital camera?
Answer: Most
people have 35mm SLR's but digital technology is catching
up fast. 35mm SLR cameras produce excellent quality photographs
and have a very wide range of film and lenses. Digital cameras
are being used by more and more professionals because of
the incredible flexibility offered, the ability to view
the shot immediately and the ease of exporting the image
to manipulation software such as Photoshop. You can obtain
compact and SLR digital cameras. Compacts go up to around
5 meg and can produce high quality A4 print images which
makes them suitable for any market that requires medium
sized prints to be produced. But, do not even contemplate
using a 1 meg digital camera as the image resolution will
not be suitable for any of the markets we cover. The only
issue you may have with higher resolution compact models
is there is no real lens flexibility and they don't really
portray the image that a professional SLR camera does. This
is only an issue in people markets such as portraiture but
is not an issue in markets such as commercial where you
are taking photographs of products, etc… Higher resolution
Digital SLR cameras do portray the image of a professional
but they are still very expensive. So you can use either
film or digital cameras. |
Question: I'm already a professional photographer,
is this package still suitable?
Answer: If
you want to increase the amount of business you get or break
into new markets then this package will provide you with the
skills to do it. Once you learn to successfully apply the
marketing skills in the package you'll have more certainty
in the type of work you well get and when you will get it
through better controlling the lead generation process. If
you are tired of not knowing where your next job is coming
from this package can give you more control. |
Question: Does
it matter how old I am or if I'm a man or a woman?
Answer: Any
person of any age or gender can succeed in the photography
business. All you need is a passion for photography and
success. |
Question: How
can I compete against all the full-time professionals out
there?
Answer: Many
full-time professionals compete in the traditional manner
of full-time studios with a Yellow Pages ad, word of mouth
and not much else. Others have built contacts with stock houses
and publications over a long period of time. But the fact
is that many professional photographers are technically excellent
but really lack marketing skills. Success in photography is
30% photography and 70% marketing. I show you ways to market
your business that the professionals just don't know about
and certainly don't do. I will show you how to generate business. |
Question: I
don't have any marketing or business experience - is this
a problem?
Answer: No,
this is the focus of the home study package. There are plenty
of books and courses out there about how to take photos but
none that show you how to make money from them as comprehensively
as this home study course. I will show you the most effective
ways to market your business including deciding which markets
to specialize in and how to approach them, product packaging,
advertising, writing ads and sales letters, designing direct
marketing campaigns, giving amazing service to guarantee word
of mouth business, etc….. You'll also learn how to set up
your photography business including business names, telephony,
pricing, tax, your paperwork, etc… |
Question: Once I purchase this home study course
will I need to buy anything else?
Answer: No,
it contains all the information you'll need to get going. |
Question: Can
I trust your company?
Answer: Yes
you can. I run a legitimate business and am happy to answer
any questions you may have by email. I have been in business
for 5 years. My business' ongoing success is dependent on
offering a high quality product that my customers value. I
have never been bankrupt and ripping people off is not part
of the way I have ever done business. We offer a money back
guarantee if the course does not live up to the promises made.
This risk is all ours. |
Question: Can
I email for further advice?
Answer: Yes
you can. I am always happy to take any questions as I am genuinely
interested in your success. With the Gold Package you also
have a free email marketing consultation Certificate where
you are able to ask more substantial or complex questions. |
Question: What's
the catch?
Answer: The
only catch is that you must do something! I'm not offering
financial miracles such as overnight fortunes. This is not
a get rich quick scheme. It is a great opportunity for you
to build a thriving photography business using the hard-earned
information in the package. And the opportunity is certainly
there for you to earn great money doing something you love
to do - you just have to learn and APPLY the information.
If you are not prepared to put some effort in then save your
money - this is not for you. |
Question: How
do I price my work?
Answer: This
is covered in detail in the package. |
Question: How do I choose what
area to specialize in?
Answer: This
is covered in detail in the package. There are over 20 areas/markets
covered including ratings of the difficulty of the market,
the equipment you'll need, what to expect in the shoot and
pricing. |
Question: This sounds great but I've got a full-time job already - how much of a problem is this?
Answer: Not
a problem at all. I recognize that almost everyone wanting
to start their own photography business will already have
a day job. This course is designed so you can run your photography
business part-time at nights or weekends if you choose.
I show you how to set up your business on 'auto pilot' so
it will continue to 'run' when you're at work. You can start
off part-time and when your income reaches a sufficient
level you may decide to leave your day job behind to dedicate
more time to your business or you might decide to go to
the beach on a Monday and relax. Everything can be done
after work hours. |
Question: I don't really like giving
my photographs out - will I need to do this?
Answer: You'll
need to put a portfolio together to show people your work.
If you want to specialize in photographic library shots
or photo journalism then yes you will have to give your
photos out. But there are plenty of other markets covered
where you don't need to do this including portraits, boudoir
and head shots. |
Question: Is there any cold calling or selling
required?
Answer: There
is no cold calling required (although you can do this if you
want to). For some of the markets covered (particularly the
commercial ones) you will have to make phone calls or go and
see your potential customer (but this is only after qualifying
the potential customer by direct marketing first - so its
awarm lead, not
a cold one). But for the other markets such as portrait, glamour
and boudoir, I will show you how you can get pre-sold prospects to call you, champing at the bit to use your services! I don't know about you, but I hate cold calling. |
Question: How
is your home study package different?
Answer: The
Photography Big-Business-Pack is the only one of its kind.
It has been written by a real photographer who started from
nothing and now has a thriving photography business (it's
real, not just theory). It also combines the marketing talents
of Bruce Stafford and Mal Emery who are well known marketing
specialists. It is therefore a unique combination of photography
and marketing. The real value of this course is to save
you the years of trial and error it can take to get to the
same point Rob is now - making great money in the quickest
possible time (Rob's wife calls him her 'money making machine!').
You can go at your own pace - as fast or as slow as you like
(there are no exams or assignment deadlines for you). The
package is a great investment in your future and offers you
a real opportunity to change your life for the better. |
